LMR-SW540 Repeater feedline

The cable run from the shack to the repeater antenna is 250’ish feet total length. Cable losses at UHF frequencies can mount quickly, to minimize loss I began to research low loss and low passive inter-mod (PIM) solutions.

I was not able to locate any surplus Andrew or similar feedline and reviewing the available new options. I discovered a Times Microwave systems product which fit the need perfectly. Very good performance 1.46db loss @ 450Mhz, very low PIM and cost effective and easy to install connectors. The downside is the cable prep tools while similar in cost Andrew tools are expensive.

With winter just around the corner I did not want to book any additional delay. So will the help of the Jerry (W0CLR) and my Sons Jerry (KM4GXF) and John it was about a 5 hour project to pull the cable.

Almost done, a lot of cable ties.
Almost done.

This cable is a stiff as frozen rope and lube is a must when pulling through conduit. This stuff worked very well.
