Recently I became aware of a nearby DMR repeater and after digging a bit, I learned that the KC metro had several DMR machines, and most of the machines are connected to a global network!
At the time I knew nothing about DMR so I began to research, and now that I know enough to be dangerous I thought it time to share. Overall DMR is a lot to absorb, it is very different from the common analog VHF/UHF analog experience we are used to.
To help understand DMR I have broken down my journey into chapters.
- What is DMR?
- What is needed to access a DMR repeater.
- And most important of all in my mind, how are hams using DMR.
